Understanding the substratum : Mycellium growth tests

Test tube experiments

Day 1

Day 3

Day 7

 Experiments with agar.

Agar + tap water

Agar + distilled water

Petri dish after 2 weeks.

Experiments with substratum:

Mycellium substratum mixed with rice to accentuate growth process.

Module test:

Manual Extrusion:

Spraying tests:

Techniques and application :

Facade System :

Application with intention of mycofiltration.

Benefits of mycofiltration:

Consumes e.coli, effectively eliminating them from the environment

Removes contaminants from polluted environment.

Inhibits plasmodium falciparum, a parasite that causes most dangerous type of malaria.

Prevents erosion due to water runoff.

Facade System :

Exploration one : Module based system.

Facade System :

Exploration two : Printing on mould. Layer-module based system.

Facade System :

Exploration three Extruding directly on facade by robot.
